MANISCALCO TILES

Peter Maniscalco, the founder and
CEO of Maniscalco / Artistic Stone Gallery, Inc., was born in a small
country town called Poggioreale in Eastern Sicily, Italy. At the age of
ten he moved with his family to Australia, following in the footsteps of
other relatives that previously moved to Sydney. Peter attended De La
Sel College, Ashfield majoring in accounting. For the next ten years he
pursued a career as an accountant working for two large trading
companies based in Sydney. While on vacation, he traveled with a friend
to Italy and stumbled across the Bologna Tile Fair. After attending the
fair they both looked into the possibility of distributing Italian
ceramic tile in Australia. This was the start of the great journey that
drove him into the stone business.
Peter’s love for the natural stone, and his experience with the accounting side of a business, allowed him to build a company that currently has a presence in Turkey, China, India, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, and America. All of Peter’s family has been involved in the business. At present, his son-in-law Brendon Smith, daughter Deborah Smith, and son Roberto are still involved. In October 2003, Roberto and his wife Elizabeth, both 23 years old, moved to America to start their own operation. The American head office, now located in Menlo Park California, sits on a 100,000 square foot lot with 40,000 square feet of warehouse space. Roberto is planning to expand to the East Coast of the United States in the near future to better serve his customers east of the Mississippi River.Roberto’s main goals are to distribute unique and exciting decorative products throughout the US. He also maintains superior inventories and high service standards at competitive prices
