2010 began a new decade, the second of this millennium. While most of us were relieved to see the close of the last decade with its disturbing events and hard economic times, there was much accomplished on a variety of fronts. Among these accomplishments was a worldwide initiative to further protect vital forest resources. Since Max Windsor is a producer of hardwood flooring, we are particularly mindful of where and how trees are harvested and of the efforts to sustain forests for future generations.
As a civilization, we are gradually gaining an understanding of how humanity and nature interrelate. Individuals, businesses, conservation groups and governments have nudged our collective consciousness into greater awareness of what each of us can do to protect what nature provides. The cornerstones of this effort include conservation, recycling and innovation. The movement, which took on great momentum during the last decade has become known, simply, as Green.
At Max Windsor, Green is among our highest priorities. Others are product and service innovation, responsible corporate citizenship, and value to customers. These priorities are at the heart of our company’s culture. We are proud of what we do each day to advance this culture, recognizing that what is good for the environment is good for us, what is innovative and exciting attracts customers, and what we do to improve our communities and encourage our employees strengthens not only them, but us as well. The flooring industry has experienced rocky times of late. Home building and remodeling fell victim to the highly publicized difficulties which befell housing.
